How Hybrid Cars Will Be Green Cars Of The Future

Go green cars go, remember that old cartoon about the kid and his car the Speed Racer anime cartoon and that repetitive theme song? For what ever reason that song was in my head the other day when I drove by a dealership that had a sign up that said go green car go. Underneath the sign was of course a collection of used green cars for sale. Now when you used to talk about green cars back in the day you were talking about the color of the car like the old green Dodge that your mom and dad used to drive ;-)   Now a days though when people talk about green cars they are talking about hybrids, electric or any other alternatively fueled car.

Quick question when it comes to the classification of green cars. What does a car have to do in order to be considered green now? Seems like that class of cars when it comes to being considered a green car is pretty broad and I personally don’t think it should be that way. For example the cars that are considered hybrid cars are looked at by most people as green cars. I don’t get that really. The hybrid cars still use gas they have just managed to use less of it. I think the idea of getting a green car should be a car that does not use gas at all.

Tesla InsideI think at this point in society we can all pretty much agree that the use of gas as a fuel is not really a good idea and is the main culprit to our environmental troubles on this planet. So the idea that car makers are finding ways to get more gas mileage on less gas is great but it is not a green solution since they are still using gas. Please someone tell me if I am missing the point here? The idea of going green is to stop using gas and start using alternative fuels altogether, like wind power, sun power, water power and electricity. I think that cars that can run on electricity are the real green cars of the future.

The hybrid cars that still run on gas are a nice stepping stones to getting more green cars on the road. Make no mistake though that these hybrid cars are still using gas so there is really not much green there. They are just slowing down the process of killing our environment. To really turn things around the concept of a totally green car has got to go mainstream. I do have hope though as more and more news continues to come out from the automakers around the world that battery technologies and the use of electric powered cars is becoming a viable solution.

When I say a viable solution I am mostly talking about the fact that there is now a market for green cars. People are ready to go for green cars and there is real money to be made for the automakers now. Let’s be honest if there was no money to be made in building green cars it just would not happen. The time for fully green cars is now, go green cars go!

For those of you that might think that a green car can not be sporty or cool looking here is a little video clip of one of the more cooler looking green cars made. One other note is that this green car was premiered three years ago, go green cars go 8-)

Green car is a promotional concept with empty meaning… It still pollutes a lot (production, use of resources…). I’m not sure a world with 6 milliards of green cars would be still livable. But maybe you think that not everybody should be allowed to have a car?
